A university campus design by GWP Architecture has won a BREEAM Award.
The Carnegie Village at Leeds Metropolitan University picked up the gong in the BREEAM awards’ multi-residential category.
Part of the project has also now been certified as meeting PassivHaus criteria. The £26 million student accommodation scheme was designed and built using energy efficiency techniques meaning conventional heating systems are not required.
GWP Architecture director John Wybor said: “We are very pleased to work with university partners who are committed to delivery exemplar student accommodation which successfully addresses the key issues of sustainability and affordability.”
