Welcome To Leeds Society of Architects

This year Aedas celebrates the 22nd birthday of its Leeds office.  From the early days under the Abbey Hanson Rowe flag, the office has enjoyed continuous growth and strong patronage from a range of Clients.  With now over 70 staff in our Brewery Wharf office, our current workload includes schools, colleges & universities, road & rail transport, commercial offices, hotels, retail, leisure facilities and civic & community projects.

Key commercial projects within the Leeds City core include No.1 City Square, Lloyds TSB on Park Row, City Point on Eastgate, K2 on Albion Street, the Whitehall Quays development including Whitehall Residential, Whitehall Offices Phase 1 & 2 and Novatel on Whitehall Road.  Most recently we are proud to be able to add the most complex and significant Leeds landmark, Bridgewater Place, to our portfolio.

This strength continues across the region with successful commissions for HBOS at their Copley Data Centre and Halifax HQ, Abbey National at Bradford Interchange, Interchange House Bradford and Yorkshire Building Society’s HQ and Contact Centres in Bradford.  In addition to this, the near future will see the development of the new Aedas designed Transport Interchange in Castleford.

A fundamental thread to our design work is that we strongly resist imposing a “house style”.  Each commission is individual and the solution bespoke to the brief, location and ambition.  Our regional strength, in our core sectors of Commercial, Leisure, Retail, Health, Education, Civic & Community and Transport, allows us to cross-fertilise skills and experiences further reinforcing our design quality and service offer.
