Cartwright Pickard Architects was founded in 1996 by Peter Cartwright and James Pickard.
The team’s experience includes innovative residential projects, educational buildings, award winning workplace buildings, master planning of major mixed use urban developments and major headquarter office buildings.
The practice has acquired an international reputation for the design of innovative schemes that employ Modern Methods of Construction.
We have considerable experience in low energy and sustainable building design. Our projects have achieved both Very Good and Excellent BREEAM and ECO Homes ratings and. We are accredited ECO Homes and Code for Sustainable Homes assessors.
Our studios in Leeds and London express our beliefs as architects and help us to put them into action. Double-height and open-plan, they reflect our team approach to knowledge sharing, as well as fostering rapid communication and a collaborative ethos.
All our designers can contribute to a project at any stage, reflecting our belief that they should stay with a project from inception to completion whenever possible.
Our senior staff carry out weekly design reviews to mentor and empower other designers and administrative staff to stay at the top of their profession. Both our studios are located in recycled existing buildings that are close to main line station and other forms of public transport to ensure that no-one has to travel to work by car.
